IFC Films Releasing Uncut Version of ‘Enter the Void’

Extended cut of Gaspar Noe’s psychedelic thriller will be shown in New York and Los Angeles

IFC Films will release the original, uncut version of Gaspar Noe’s "Enter the Void" in New York and Los Angeles, the company announced on Wednesday.

The new cut includes 20 minutes of footage never before seen in American theaters. The longer version was released theatrically in France. A scaled down "Void" was first released in New York on September 24, 2010 at the IFC Center, where it continues to show.

Noé’s  drama has been name-checked by filmmakers such as Edgar Wright, John Waters, and Quentin Tarantino who have all named it one of the best films of 2010.

Shot from a first-person perspective, the film centers on a drug dealer's death and psychedelic journey through death and the dream world. The full version will include scenes in a spirit world that were excised from the U.S. release.

The new version will play at the IFC Center from January 14 through January 20. The film will also play at The Landmark Nuart Theater in Los Angeles on January 21 for a special midnight showing.
