The Widow is preparing for an all-out assault on the other Barons with a little help from the slave caste known as cogs in the new episode of “Into the Badlands.”
In an exclusive clip obtained by TheWrap, The Widow (Emily Beecham) delivers a speech to the cogs that she lured away from Quinn in last week’s episode.
“Quinn and the other Barons, they want you to believe they are benevolent because they protect you from the horrors of the world,” she says. “I offer you a brighter future, a real future. One you can control.”
She then has her loyal army of Butterflies distribute food to the cogs, in addition the gold she already plied them with last week. But she appears to have a more sinister goal in mind.
At the end of her speech, she asks a young male cog to step out of the crowd. She has him escorted away and watches him go with a menacing look in her eyes.
The new episode of “Into the Badlands” airs on AMC on Dec. 13 at 10 p.m./9c.
