“Our users are clearly loving it,” CEO Steve Jobs said. Developers may be a different story.

iPhone and iTouch customers have downloaded more than 2 billion applications from the App Store, Apple announced Monday.

CEO Steve Jobs said more than a quarter-billion apps moved in the past quarter. There are at least 85,000 apps available, a number that continues to grow quickly.

"Our users are clearly loving it,”Jobs said in a statement. Developers may be a different story.

Apple has been under fire recently for its approvals process, in which Google’s Voice program has been snared. The FCC is looking into the matter.

There are 250,000 developers providing Apple’s apps for the iPhone and iTouch.
