James Hibberd, the television editor for the Hollywood Reporter, is exiting the trade for Entertainment Weekly, where he’ll be EW’s new television editor.
Here (via LAObserved.com) is THR editorial director Janice Min’s memo to the staff about Hibberd’s move:
Please join me in congratulating James Hibberd on his next life move: he is moving over to join Entertainment Weekly as their new television blogger. I'm happy for him as he has wanted the experience of a large consumer website under his wing, but I'm sure we will all miss his obsessive nature (who else will IM you back at 7 am), tenacity, and skills as a reporter and writer.
Hibberd gave his two weeks notice, and will be at THR until Dec. 15.
“We will certainly find time before the holidays to raise a toast to him for his great work here,” Min wrote, “and no doubt continued great work in his new venture.”
