James Patterson Drama ‘Innocent’ in Works at CBS With ‘Blue Bloods’ EP

Network developing series about father emerging from prison for crime he didn’t commit

CBS is developing a drama series called “Innocent” based on a soon-to-publish James Patterson novel.

Siobhan Byrne O’Connor (“Blue Bloods”) is writing and executive producing. Former CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller is also an executive producer.

The project from CBS Television Studios centers on the disrupted family dynamic for three siblings after their estranged father returns from an 18-year prison sentence for a murder he didn’t commit.

Executive producing with O’Connor and Geller are Patterson, Bill Robinson and Leopoldo Gout.

This continues CBS’ relationship with best-selling author Patterson. “Zoo,” based on his book of the same name, is currently airing its third season on the network.
