Word of actor and outspoken conservative James Woods’ retirement has come from a very peculiar way… through his real estate agent.

According to the Providence Journal, Woods is selling one of his four Rhode Island homes  for $1.39 million. As part of the listing, Woods’ agent, Allen Gammons, said in a news release that Woods is retiring from acting and is looking to “simplify his life” by selling “his many real estate holdings on both coasts.”

Though Woods has said that his conservative views have made it difficult to find jobs in Hollywood, Gammons said that his retirement was for personal reasons, noting the recent death of the actor’s mother and brother.

Woods, whose career includes films like “Casino,” “Once Upon a Time in America” and “Rudy,” recently was in a highly-publicized Twitter spat with actress Amber Tamblyn, who claimed that he tried to pick her up when she was 16. Woods vehemently denied the claim, leading to an intense exchange of words between the two.

Reps for Woods did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
