Jamie Foxx Shuns Players Over ‘Friends’-Theme Fail on ‘Beat Shazam’ (Exclusive Video)

“I don’t want to be your friend if you don’t know that title”

If there’s one thing Jamie Foxx doesn’t have time for, it’s people with limited knowledge of the “Friends” theme song.

Indeed, the “Ray” star isn’t pleased when both teams fail to correctly name the tune on Thursday’s episode of “Beat Shazam,” as seen in an exclusive sneak peek.

In the clip, the host is unable to hide his enthusiasm when learning that the next category is TV themes.

“That’s my favorite — I wish I was behind that podium,” Foxx tells the contestants on the Fox game show. “I grew up on TV themes. Listen — this is how I became who I am, watching TV.”

His mood swiftly turns sour when he realizes that the two remaining teams have both incorrectly identified the “Friends” theme — a.k.a. “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts — as “Why Can’t We Be Friends.”

“They gave us the dreaded, ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends,’” a rattled Foxx said. “I don’t want to be your friend if you don’t know that title.”

The episode is a momentous one for “Beat Shazam,” as one team becomes the show’s first ever to win the million-dollar prize.

Check out the footage above.

“Beat Shazam” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
