The Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, the August 21 show in which the vast majority of Primetime Emmy Awards will be handed out, has named a slate of presenters that pairs actors from series like “Glee,” “Mad Men,” “Lost” and “Dexter” with the showrunners responsible for those programs.
The teams presenting awards will include Jane Lynch and Ryan Murphy (“Glee”), John Lithgow and Clyde Phillips (“Dexter”), Christina Hendricks and Matthew Weiner (“Mad Men,” below), Elizabeth Mitchell and Damon Lindelhof (“Lost”) and Rico Rodriguez and Steve Levitan (“Modern Family”).
“Saturday Night Live” cast members Seth Meyers and Andy Samberg will also appear as presenters.
The Television Academy of Arts & Sciences also announced that Spike Jones, Jr. will return as producer of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys for the 16th time.
In addition, Dr. John Leverence, the senior vice president of awards for the Television Academy, will be given the Syd Cassyd Founders Award, which goes to an Academy member “who has made a significant, positive impact on the Television Academy through their efforts and service over many years of involvement.” The award has only been handed out nine previous times.
The Primetime Creative Arts Emmys will hand out awards in more than 70 categories. The show will take place at the Nokia Theater on Saturday, August 21, and an edited version will air as a two-hour special on E! Entertainment Television on Friday, August 27.
The 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards will take place two nights later, on August 29.
