Jason Momoa Gets CinemaCon’s Rising Star of 2011 Award

Star of “Conan the Barbarian” and “Game of Thrones” hopes to become a household name in the next few months

Jason Momoa will receive a “CinemaCon Rising Star of 2011 Award," the trade show's organizers announced on Friday.

Not yet a household name, Momoa hopes to change that playing the title role in next summer's "Conan the Barbarian."

He also has a key part on the small screen, playing a warlord in the HBO series "Game of Thrones."

Momoa's first big break was in the television show "Stargate: Atlantis."

He will pick up his hardware at CinemaCon's awards ceremony on the final night of the exhibition, Thusday, March 31.

Julianne Hough, soon to appear in "Footloose" and "Rock of Ages," will receive the other Rising Star of 2011 Award.
