Jason Sudeikis, Rose Byrne to Star in Romantic Comedy ‘Tumbledown’

Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Blythe Danner and Beau Bridges will also co-star in the Sean Mewshaw directed film.

Jason Sudeikis and Rose Byrne will star in the independent romantic comedy “Tumbledown,” it was announced on Friday by producers Kristin Hahn of Indigo Films and Aaron L. Gilbert and Margot Hand of Bron Studios.

Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Blythe Danner, Michael McKean and Beau Bridges will co-star in the movie, which Sean Mewshaw will direct from an original screenplay by Desi Van Til. Both Mewshaw and Van Til are making their feature debuts, having previously collaborated on the short film “Last Night,” which starred Frances McDormand and premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

“Tumbledown” stars Byrne as a young widow who falls for a brash New York writer (Sudeikis) who barrels into her rural Maine town to investigate the death of her husband, a folk-music hero.

Production is scheduled to start in October in Vancouver. CAA packaged the project and will be representing North American rights.

“Saturday Night Live” star Sudeikis, who previously starred in “Horrible Bosses” and “Hall Pass,” will next be seen opposite Jennifer Aniston in “We’re the Millers.”

“Damages” veteran Byrne has been burning up the bigscreen ever since “Bridesmaids.” She’ll soon be seen in Fox’s summer comedy “The Internship” and the romantic comedy “I Give It a Year,” and is set to star in studio movies “Townies” and “This Is Where I Leave You.”

Munn, Manganiello and McKean respectively star in the HBO series “The Newsroom,” “True Blood” and “Family Tree.” Danner has co-starred in the “Meet the Parents” trilogy, while Bridges was last seen playing George Clooney‘s brother in “The Descendants.”

Van Til is currently writing the Warner Bros. comedy “Married Off” based on an original pitch. Van Til and Mewshaw are managed by Anonymous Content.
