Jay Baruchel Comedy ‘Man Seeking Woman’ Renewed for Season 2 by FXX

New 10-episode run will premiere in 2016

Jay Baruchel will be hitting the dating scene again, God help him.

FXX has ordered a second season of Baruchel’s comedy “Man Seeking Woman,” the network said Tuesday.

The half-hour comedy, created by “Saturday Night Live” veteran Simon Rich,  stars “Undeclared” alum Baruchel as Josh Greenberg, a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love. The cast also includes series regulars Eric André, Britt Lower and Maya Erskine.

“Man Seeking Woman” will return for a 10-episode second season next year.

“Working on ‘Man Seeking Woman’ has been the creative highlight of my life. FXX gave us the freedom to make the show we love and they let us build some truly disgusting monsters,” Rich said. “I’m so grateful to John Landgraf and his team for believing in us and I can’t wait to get back to work.”

“Man Seeking Woman” is the first original comedy series developed for FXX, which launched in September 2013.

The current freshman season of the comedy is averaging 353,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, according to Live + 7 Day numbers, which take into account viewers who watched the original airing, as well as those who watched over the following seven days.
