Jeb Bush Hires Fox News’ Anchor Coach for Media Makeover

Jon Kraushar has trained network anchors and GOP politicians

As his campaign continues to implode, Jeb Bush has hired a GOP media maestro known for coaching up Republican politicians and Fox News anchors.

New York Magazine‘s Gabriel Sherman reported the former Florida governor hired Jon Kraushar to help him craft a much-needed media makeover.

“Fox pundits regularly go to Kraushar for training and Ailes recommends politicians to him,” Sherman reported, adding that Paul Ryan used Kraushar to boost his image during his vice presidential run in 2012.

Bush was “very defensive” about seeking outside help, but recent debate and interview struggles forced his hand.

The one-time shoe-in GOP nominee has toiled in single digits for weeks as outsiders like Donald Trump and Ben Carson have sprung atop the GOP polls. He’s been criticized for delivering awkward sound bites during interviews and for appearing less than authentic.

Donors have reportedly been in panic mode following last week’s CNBC debate, where Bush allowed Florida Senator Marco Rubio to show him up in an exchange about Rubio’s poor attendance record in the U.S. Senate.

Bush has publicly conceded he’s more of a doer than a debater or media star. Unfortunately for him, GOP voters seem to want a mix of both nowadays.
