In a perfectly ’90s pairing and reunion, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler team up as framed criminals on the run in Netflix’s new action-comedy “Murder Mystery.”
Sandler plays a New York detective who, after 15 years of marriage, finally takes his wife (Aniston) on a long-promised European trip. When Aniston meets a charming and wealthy British man (Luke Evans), they’re invited to an intimate family gathering on a yacht of an elderly billionaire, only to be present when the man is murdered. They become the prime suspects in a modern day whodunit.
The first trailer for the film shows a queasy scene of a man removing and then putting back the bloody murder weapon in the body, and another in which Aniston takes control behind the wheel of a Ferrari.
“You have any idea how gorgeous you look right now,” Sandler shouts as she rams into the rear of a cop car.
Sandler and Aniston are reuniting for the first time since 2011’s comedy “Just Go With It.” Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton, Luis Gerardo Mendez and Terence Stamp also star in “Murder Mystery.” The comic caper is directed by Kyle Newacheck and written by James Vanderbilt.
Netflix is releasing “Murder Mystery” on their streaming service on June 14. The trailer first debuted on “Ellen” Friday, but you can watch it above.
