Jennifer Aniston Goes Crazy, Hallucinates Anna Kendrick in First ‘Cake’ Trailer (Video)

The former “Friends” star enters the Best Actress Oscar race with indie drama

Jennifer Aniston goes makeup-free and dark to play a woman in constant pain, as evidenced by the first trailer for indie drama “Cake.”

First premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film follows Aniston as Claire, an acerbic woman with chronic pain who is constantly popping pills and getting into fights.

When Nina (Anna Kendrick), a woman in her support group, commits suicide, she becomes obsessed with her death and Nina’s husband (Sam Worthington).

It’s not long before Nina apparently haunts Claire, showing up to offer her advice, a shoulder to cry on or a birthday cake — whatever the occasion calls for.

“Cake” was picked up by new distributor Cinelou and will have a one-week Oscar-qualifying run in December before being released wide in January.
