Jennifer Aniston Trashes Tabloid Treatment of Women: ‘We Get Boxed In’ (Video)

“Friends” alum has had enough of the pregnancy and divorce rumors

Get a life, tabloid writers and photographers.

That was Jennifer Aniston’s basic message for the paparazzi and gossip columnists that incessantly follow her and other famous women around. She also thinks those who consume such garbage could benefit from better reading material.

“We were mobbed, like a scary kind of mob. I didn’t know what was happening,” the “Friends” alum recalled a recent run-in for Ellen DeGeneres. “I kept thinking, ‘Is Kim Kardashian behind me or something?’”

That’s when Aniston learned about the latest “wonderful” photograph circulating.

“A picture of me with a bump and a circle around my stomach with an arrow pointing to it,” she said. “Just in this sort of kind of objectifying way.”

“I think these tabloids, all of us, need to take responsibility on what we ingest into our brains,” Aniston opined. “Just because we are women, we have a uterus, we have a vagina, we have ovaries, we need to like, ‘Get to work lady.’”

“We as women do a lot of incredible things in this world other than just procreate,” she told the “Ellen” crowd. “We just get boxed in.”

“They love the narrative, they  love the story, they love the ‘She’s jealous of this person,’ and ‘She’s depressed,’ and ‘Oh my God she’s never going to have a…’ — whatever the horrible little headline is, we’ve just got to break out of that,” Aniston concluded.
