Jerry Weintraub to Be Honored With Career Achievement Award at Zurich Film Fest

"Ocean's Eleven" producer Jerry Weintraub will discuss his films during a workshop

Jerry Weintraub, the producer behind the "Ocean's Eleven" and "Karate Kid" film series, among others, will receive the Golden Eye career achievement award at this year's Zurich Film Festival, festival organizers said Tuesday.

The festival — which runs Sept. 20-30 — will also feature a retrospective of Weintraub's work. Weintraub, who will celebrate his 75th birthday on Sept. 26, will also discuss his catalog during a workshop for the festival's Master Class series.

“We are extraordinarily proud to welcome Jerry Weintraub, one of Hollywood’s true legends, to Zurich and are delighted that he will share his films and stories with our public,” Karl Spoerri, the festival's artistic director, said.

Weintraub is currently producing HBO's upcoming Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra" and will produce a live-action Tarzan movie for Warner Bros. next year.
