Comedy Central has canceled weekly series “The Jim Jefferies Show” after three seasons, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
“‘The Jim Jefferies Show’ will air its final episode on Nov. 19, concluding a brilliant three-year run on Comedy Central,” the cable channel told TheWrap in a statement. “We thank Jim and the team for bringing us a unique and international approach to culture and politics. We look forward to developing more projects with Jim in the future.”
Reps for Jefferies did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment from the Australian comic.
Jefferies won’t be sedentary, however. He’s starring in a Universal TV multi-cam sitcom that has a put pilot commitment at NBC.
Suzanne Martin and Jefferies are writing the potential series, on which Jefferies will play a fictionalized version of himself, offering his unique take on modern life and the complexity of relationships, according to its logline.
Jefferies, Martin, Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, Tim Sarkes and Alex Murray are executive producers on that one.
“The Jim Jefferies Show” debuted in 2017 and covered U.S. politics, pop culture, global issues and “whatever else happens to be bothering [Jefferies] at the moment,” according to its own logline.
Jefferies is also known to television viewers as the co-creator and star of FX’s (and then FXX’s) “Legit,” which ran for two seasons.
“The Jim Jefferies Show” airs Tuesdays at 10:30/9:30c on Comedy Central — for another two weeks, at least.
