Jimmy Fallon Debuts His Pete Buttigieg Impression (Video)

He’s not quite white bread — or at least, not plain, un-toasted white bread

Move over Jimmy Fallon’s Beto O’Rourke, here comes Jimmy Fallon’s Pete Buttigieg.

On Monday, the “Tonight Show” host debuted his Buttigieg impression. Even Fallon’s version can’t really spell or pronounce the South Bend, Indiana, mayor’s last name. The jokes didn’t stop there.

“By age 14, I knew I wanted to be president of the United States,” Fallon-as-Buttigieg said Monday night. “And boy, the two years since have just flown by.”

Yeah, dude is young. How young is he? Young enough that Fallon put in a pretty solid quip about Buttigieg’s Disney Channel show. (Also, for the purposes of including at least a few real facts here, Buttigieg is 37 years old.)

The NBC late-night leader also dropped a “Game of Thrones” punchline and payoff during his “Pete 2020” segment.

“I’m a little green, but I’m fresh, Instagram-able and, ultimately, good for you,” the faux Buttigieg summed up his candidacy. “I’m the avocado toast of the Democratic party.”

He just earned the millennial vote — and a pretty large bill at whatever the hip brunch spot in Los Angeles is these days.

Candidate Buttigieg has entered a pretty busy field. See Fallon’s Beto O’Rourke impression debut exactly one month earlier here.
