Jimmy Fallon, Ethan Hawke Duel Over Leaving the House in Willie Nelson-Johnny Cash Duet (Video)

Conflicting viewpoints about “staying here” lead to a great description of what exactly “Fortnite” is

Don’t try and make plans with Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, ’cause those two aren’t on the same page when it comes to how to have a good time. Well, at least they weren’t when Ethan Hawke and Jimmy Fallon impersonated them on the “Tonight Show” Tuesday night.

The (fake) iconic singers kicked off a new season of the NBC late-night program by battling it out in a dueling duet of their hits “On the Road Again” and “Let’s Just Stay Here.” And the two were both very much in tune with their own lyrics, as they fought each other on whether or not to head out for an adventure or just stay in.

Willie was all about hitting the road, while Cash was firmly on the “Wait, no, why?” side.

Finally, Fallon’s Cash was able to make Hawke’s Nelson understand by promising him if they “just stayed here” they could all play “Fortnite.” Wait, Willie doesn’t know what “Fortnite” is? No problem, ’cause Fallon launches into one of the most straightforward descriptions of the massively popular multi-player game we’ve ever heard. The pitch works like a charm and suddenly everyone is “staying here.”
