Jimmy Fallon, John Goodman and Paul Rudd Hosting ‘SNL’ December Episodes

Fallon’s BFF Justin Timberlake will join his buddy as musical guest Dec. 21; One Direction and Kings of Leon also to perform next month

Paul Rudd, John Goodman and Jimmy Fallon will each be hosting “Saturday Night Live” in December, NBC said Thursday — and they are bringing along some killer musical guests: One Direction, Kings of Leon and Justin Timberlake, respectively.

Rudd returns to “SNL” for his third stint as host on Dec.  7.  Rudd will be promoting “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” due in theaters Dec. 20.  One Direction will join Rudd for their second time as musical guest on the sketch comedy show.  Their newest album, “Midnight Memories,” will be released a few weeks prior to the show, on Nov. 25.

Goodman makes his 13th hosting go-around on Dec. 14.  He is currently starring in the Amazon.com original series, “Alpha House” and can soon be seen in the 2013 Cannes Grand Prix winning film, “Inside Llewyn Davis.”  Grammy Award winners Kings of Leon make their third appearance as musical guest.  Their latest album, “Mechanical Bull,” was released on Sept. 24 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Chart.

On Dec. 21, former cast member Fallon returns to Studio 8H for his second time as host. Currently the host of NBC’s “Late Night,” Fallon will premiere “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Feb. 17.  Justin Timberlake makes his fifth appearance as musical guest.

Timberlake recently kicked off The 20/20 Experience World Tour in support of “The 20/20 Experience – The Compete Experience” having debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart.  He can also be seen co-starring in “Inside Llewyn Davis.”  Both Fallon and Timberlake have won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for their work hosting “SNL.”

This weekend, “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” star Josh Hutcherson hosts the comedy show with musical guest HAIM.
