Jimmy Fallon Lands Live ‘Tonight Show’ After Super Bowl LII (Video)

Though NBC drama “This Is Us” technically gets the year’s top lead-in

Jon Stewart dropped by “The Tonight Show” and dropped trou on Tuesday, when he helped host Jimmy Fallon share a little news.

Last night, the NBC personality announced a live “Tonight” from Minneapolis to take place on the night the city hosts Super Bowl LII. Here is how NBC’s February 4 schedule will go: Super Bowl LII, “This Is Us,” late local news, “The Tonight Show.”

So, technically, broadcast’s No. 1 drama “This Is Us” gets the best direct lead-in of the entire year — but this is still pretty good news for Fallon, who could use an injection of extra audience members lately.

While Jimmy is still No. 1 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, Stephen Colbert took hold of the top total-viewers podium last season, something he has yet to relinquish.

Fallon’s guests for the Orpheum Theatre episode will be announced at a later date, per the network.

Watch the initial announcement via the above video, in which Fallon and Stewart exchange pants as part of the setup. That’ll make some sense in about a minute, we promise.
