Jimmy Fallon Slow Jams the News With ‘Woke Doc Brown’ Bernie Sanders (Video)

Is it hot in here, or is it the senator from Vermont?

Jimmy Fallon wants to slow jam the news about the fifth Democratic debate, and he’s not the only one. That’s your cue, Sen. Bernie Sanders.

On Tuesday, the man running against Donald Trump (again) for the president of the United States podium shared his politics and policies with the 30 Rock audience. And then Fallon and Tariq Trotter — aka Black Thought — from house band The Roots made all that boring stuff sound sexy. Perhaps a little too sexy.

Here’s how Fallon interpreted Sanders’ criticism of our country’s wealth distribution: “Aw, yeah. Bernie Sanders is looking out for your ‘bottom half.’ He knows it’s been neglected for too long. Now he wants to pay it some extra-special attention. He’s sick and tired of having just a few people on top.”

Watch the Vermont politician whom Fallon dubbed “woke Doc Brown” spread his message via the video above.

Then feel yourself get a bit uncomfortable as the NBC late-night personality and Black Thought spread the love. There’s even a pretty decent “OK, Boomer” line in Trotter’s R&B portion of the performance.

You know what was not good? Bernie’s “impression” of the “Tonight Show” host. Probably should have left that button out of an otherwise solid segment.
