Jimmy Kimmel Accepts Ted Cruz’s One-on-One Basketball Challenge – and He’s Got Jokes (Video)

“I immediately went online and Googled ‘How to guard a blobfish,'” ABC host jokes

Game on! Jimmy Kimmel has accepted Ted Cruz’s challenge to play one-on-one basketball for charity — and he already knows how to D the GOP senator up.

“I immediately went online and Googled ‘How to guard a blobfish,’” the ABC host quipped Thursday on his “Jimmy Kimmel Live” primetime special, which preceded Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals.

(For non-sports fans, that’s the championship round in the league where the guys who can actually ball play.)

“You really want to play basketball against a talk show host?” the “Man Show” alum asked his opponent from the great state of Texas. “You already lost an election to a reality show host — isn’t that enough?”

Oh, snap.

This won’t be Kimmel’s first public hoops duel.

“Senator, I played against Shaquille O’Neal,” he continued. “I know Shaq. Shaq is a friend of mine. And you, Sen. Cruz, are no Shaquille O’Neal.”

“We’ve got to figure out the details,” Kimmel buttoned up the monologue bit. “Maybe we should do this the Monday before midterms — it’d be fun to see him lose twice in one week, right?”

Quick, someone queue up whatever is the exact opposite of that Harlem Globetrotters “Sweet Georgia Brown” song.
