Jimmy Kimmel Asks: Do You Approve of Congress Right Now? (Video)

The late-night host also takes on Miley Cyrus’ MTV doc, Ken Burns-style

Jimmy Kimmel took on the two most pressing issues currently facing the American people: the government shutdown and Miley Cyrus.

A Kimmel correspondent took to the streets just outside of his LA studio to find someone who approved of our Congress now that the government has been shut down.

After 15 emphatic “no’s” and one guy who didn’t appreciate having his phone conversation interrupted by Kimmel’s microphone, the crew was able to find one person who was just fine with everything: a clown.

“There you go. One out of 17 people approve of the job Congress is doing, and that person is an actual clown,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel also made sure to comment on MTV’s Miley Cyrus documentary, which aired just before his show on Wednesday.

“It is the story of one woman’s search for independence and hopefully some pants,” Kimmel said.

He seemed to prefer Ken Burns version of the Cyrus’s story, with its sepia-toned photos and description of the “twerking threat” that would soon face America in the summer of 2013.
