Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump on Thursday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” by doing his best to prove that the president is no more eloquent than a fourth grader.
To make his case, the late-night funnyman brought out actual fourth graders to read speeches that Trump has given on his current overseas trip.
“To show how they stack up with the big kid in the Oval Office,” Kimmel said.
Kimmel had actual kids read a specific part of recent Trump rhetoric, then showed the president reading the same exact line. Eventually, Kimmel had the audio of the children and Trump playing at the same time — the similarities in tone and pacing are remarkable.
The host has gotten more political in recent weeks, highlighted by his viral story about his son’s health condition and how it relates to the healthcare situation in America.
“We are now living in a world of alternative facts,” the late-night host told his ABC audience earlier this month. “The president makes statements every day that aren’t necessarily the truth — which is frustrating to some people and confusing to others, especially young people raised to believe that the president always tells the truth.”
