Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Kanye West Tirade Over BBC Interview Spoof (Video)

The late night host says “finally, I’m in a rap feud,” and that the situation has reached “DefKanye Five” level

Jimmy Kimmel opened his Thursday monologue by addressing the hip-hop elephant in the room: “It’s been a weird — quick question, did anyone else get a very angry phone call from Kanye West about an hour and a half ago?” he asked.

In the show’s second segment, Kimmel explained the whole Twitter beef that came as a result of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” spoofing a Kanye interview. The host said that West called him demanding a public apology, saying, “Your life is going to be much better if [you] apologize.”

Still, the angry tweets from the rapper kept flowing, to varying degrees of clarity. Kimmel read and responded to some on his TV show.

West tweeted, “JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES … OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD PUSSY IN YOUR LIFE…”

“I’ve seen the video,” Kimmel replied, referring to Kim Kardashian‘s sex tape with singer Ray J. “I know.”

It should be noted that Jimmy Kimmel is the reigning Hollywood prank king, and that he fooled essentially the entire media with his “Twerking Girl on Fire” hoax. While the ABC host has said that this time it’s real and not a prank, one has to maintain a healthy degree of skepticism. Still, it’s hilarious regardless.

Back to the beef:

Kanye then began ranting on the social media platform about a wedding they had mutually been guests at: “I LIKE YOU, YOU KNOW ME, I WENT TO YOUR FAMILY’S WEDDING.”

Kimmel clarified that it was actually a friend’s wedding. Apparently that did not sit too well with Yeezus.

“WHO YOU MADE IT CLEAR TO ME WASN’T YOUR FAMILY WHEN I WAS ON THEN PHONE WITH YOU 5 MINUTES AGO, YOU MANIPULATIVE MEDIA MUTHERFUCKER,” West tweeted.

Kanye also tweeted about Kimmel’s ex: “SARAH SILVERMAN IS A THOUSAND TIMES FUNNIER THAN YOU AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!!!”

While that seems complimentary to Silverman, the next post confuses that a bit. West posted a photo of Jimmy on Twitter with the words “NO GOOD PUSSY” superimposed.

“OK, well, I think that’s insulting Sarah, by the way,” Kimmel quipped.

It only got weirder on the telephone when Kanye West reportedly told Jimmy, “I am the most powerful voice in media.” He then allegedly declared, “I am PAC.”

To which Kimmel hilariously concluded, “Finally, I’m in a rap feud,” declaring the whole situation, “DefKanye Five.”
