Jimmy Kimmel Ruins Chelsea Clinton’s ‘Serve a Year’ Campaign PSA (Video)

The late-night host didn’t quite understand the mission of the public service announcement

Jimmy Kimmel has a lot to learn when it comes to public service.

The late-night host had Chelsea Clinton on his show Monday to talk about her “Serve a Year” campaign, in which young people spend a year serving in impoverished schools, health clinics, disaster relief efforts, and other projects.

Unfortunately for Clinton, Kimmel had not brushed up on any of this information prior to appearing in a PSA for the program.

Kimmel immediately took issue with the name of the program, and suggested it be called “National Ninja Warrior Squad” instead.

While the program is meant to combat poverty and low graduation rates, Kimmel seemed more concerned with the danger that gluten poses to America’s youth.

And while the saying goes that “service is its own reward,” Kimmel contended that the program offers a great excuse for skipping social engagements. “I wish I could come to your improv show but I can’t because I’m serving America,” Kimmel said.
