Joe Scarborough Blasts Trump Team: ‘They’re Not Smart People’

“Seriously morons,” added co-host Mika Brzezinski

Joe Scarborough knows the answer for why Trump officials and their allies on Capitol Hill continue to stumble from one blunder to the next — they’re not very smart.

The “Morning Joe” host made his pronouncement on Wednesday as the show was reviewing the payments that Trump attorney Michael Cohen received from various companies in exchange for insights into his former boss.

“I don’t know how to politely say this,” said Scarborough. “They are not intelligent people. They are not smart people. They bumble around. I don’t mean to go back to Rudy Giuliani talking about how intelligent he is. But, who is dumb enough to go on the air, give three different accounts of an active case that the Southern District of New York is investigating?”

“Seriously morons,” added co-host Mika Brzezinski. “I’ll just say it.”

Later on in the program, show regular Mike Barnicle suggested that Rudy’s Yankees season tickets right behind home plate might have made him the victim of foul ball related brain damage.

“We have to take into account — and this is in Rudy’s defense — his season tickets at Yankee stadium are right next to the Yankee dugout. Prior to the netting being established if you took a foul ball,” he said before trailing off.

“Morning Joe” spent most of the program digesting the latest news surrounding Cohen. In addition to the revelations earlier this week that he had accepted money from a Russian oligarch which indirectly paid for the Stormy Daniels settlement, news emerged yesterday that Cohen had provided vague consulting services for major U.S. companies, including AT&T and Novartis, and billed them hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Reporting suggests that after he was shut out of a White House gig, Cohen moved to monetize his closeness to the president by providing insight to companies about the new president.
