John Cena Battles Blazing Infernos and Family Chaos in First ‘Playing With Fire’ Trailer (Video)

WWE Superstar plays a firefighter forced to look after a family of kids he rescued from a blaze

John Cena is the latest Hollywood tough guy to show his silly and sensitive side in the family comedy “Playing With Fire.”

In the film, Cena plays a firefighter turned babysitter when he’s forced to look after a family of kids he rescued from a blaze as he tracks down their parents. And before long, this hardened professional finds himself swimming in bubble baths and playing friendly games of dodgeball with the little kids he’s watching over.

Oh, and of course the firefighters have a mean attack dog that doesn’t stay so mean once he meets this family.

“No! Sit,” the young Finley Rose Slater says in the trailer to their charging pit bull Masher. “I think the baby just broke your dog,” John Leguizamo’s character responds.

“Playing With Fire” is directed by Andy Fickman and is being released by Paramount Pictures and Paramount Players in association with Walden Media. Cena stars alongside Keegan-Michael Key, Leguizamo, Brianna Hildebrand, Dennis Haybert and Judy Greer.

Mark Moran is the executive producer, and Todd Garner and Sean Robbins are producing. Dan Ewen and Matthew Liberman wrote the screenplay.

“Playing With Fire” opens in theaters on Nov. 8. Watch the first trailer above.
