John Cena Thinks He’d Make a Great Captain America (Video)

“If the Captain America people are listening and you’re out there watching right now, I’ll totally do it. I totally will,” WWE Superstar says

Could John Cena be headed out of the ring and into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? On Monday, the actor and WWE Superstar fueled a rumor that’s been circulating since last month that he might be the next Captain America.

Last month, Cena posted a cryptic photo of Captain America’s shield scratched with five claw marks, sparking online speculation about what it means. And he’s game to take on the role.

“For real? Finally,” Cena told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show. “If it’s out there, and if the Captain America people are listening and you’re out there watching right now, I’ll totally do it. I totally will.”

And why not? DeGeneres teased him that she was surprised to see him sporting a full head of hair and said the new ‘do would be perfect for the part of Steve Rogers.

Cena also teased that he didn’t know who started the rumor. It might’ve been him, or for all we know it might’ve even been DeGeneres.

Cena is promoting his upcoming “Transformers” movie, the prequel film “Bumblebee” starring opposite Hailee Steinfeld. He also told DeGeneres how he spent six months in China and has learned Mandarin in the process.

“I heard that the toughest two things to do when you get older are to learn a language and learn and instrument, so I’m also trying to learn piano to prove that wrong,” he said.

We would expect nothing less from the next Captain America. Watch Cena’s appearance on “Ellen” above.
