HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver mocked White House senior adviser Stephen Miller on Sunday night, calling him a “Vitamin D-deficient Minion” and “revolting.”
“It is genuinely hard to find a photo of him not looking like a minion,” Oliver said.
“Miller spoke to the press this week about the White House’s support for a draconian immigration bill which would slash legal immigration levels in half over a decade and make citizenship contingent on factors such as English ability, education levels, and job skills. Which prompted this incredible exchange with CNN’s Jim Acosta,” Oliver said on his program.
Miller, a Santa Monica native, made headlines last week for going after Acosta during a White House press briefing. He called the reporter “insulting, ignorant and foolish.”
Miller took to the podium during last Wednesday’s press briefing to discuss President Trump’s plan to revamp legal immigration when the CNN senior White House correspondent was called on for a question about the new policy that favors English-speaking immigrants. The two got into a heated exchange over the poem on the Statue of Liberty when Miller said it was added later and wasn’t part of the original statue.
“Wait, though: Just because it wasn’t part of the original does not mean it is worthless. Some of the best things ever made were changed part way through. Did you know, for instance, there was a time when ‘Fast and Furious’ movies didn’t have The Rock in them? It’s true, and they sucked. That’s why they added the f—–g Rock,” Oliver said.
Oliver went on to poke fun at Miller’s young age, calling him an “entitled, elitist a–hole.”
Stephen Miller: 8 Late-Night Insults for Trump's 'Basic Henchman' (Photos)
Trump adviser Stephen Miller made a splash Wednesday by calling CNN's Jim Acosta "insulting, ignorant and foolish." But late-night hosts have had some harsh assessments of him, too. For example:
Sunday morning shows to push the president's border policies. Late-night hosts were not impressed by his chilly claim that "the powers of our president to protect our country... will not be questioned," and compared him to some unflattering people, places and cartoon characters. For example...
"Sméagol in a suit" - Trevor Noah
"That guy is 31 years old and he already looks like he's two-thirds of the way to Montgomery Burns." - Seth Meyers
"Young Gargamel" - Stephen Colbert
Superman villain General Zod - Stephen Colbert
(Context: After making the Gargamel comment, Colbert played a video of the previously mentioned Stephen Miller quote. Then Colbert joked that Miller then added, "I am become death, destroyer of worlds. Kneel before Zod." Which is a combo of famous quotes by Robert Oppenheimer and Zod.)
"The guy who shows up with a flashlight when teens are getting drunk in a graveyard." - Seth Meyers
"If you're wondering why his face looks familiar, it's probably because you see him every time you take off our socks. Black people, you can ignore that joke." - Trevor Noah
"A basic henchman" - Trevor Noah
"A guilty husband who got caught texting with a female co-worker." - Seth Meyer
We'll keep updating this list as more Stephen Miller insults roll in.
