Jon Hamm Joins Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx in Edgar Wright’s ‘Baby Driver’

Lily James (“Cinderella”) is set to play the female lead in the film, which TriStar is co-financing with MRC

Fresh off winning his first Emmy for “Mad Men,” Jon Hamm is set to embrace his inner villain and join Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jamie Foxx in Edgar Wright‘s “Baby Driver,” TheWrap has learned.

Sony’s TriStar Pictures will distribute worldwide and co-finance the film with MRC. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce with Wright’s frequent collaborator Nira Park of Big Talk Productions.

Elgort (“The Fault In Our Stars”) plays a talented getaway driver who is coerced into working for a crime boss and finds himself in over his head.

Hamm will play a villain who is part of a gang of bank robbers. He previously played a FBI agent tasked with stopped a gang of bank robbers in Ben Affleck’s “The Town.”

Production will start later this year, as the film is scheduled for release on March 17, 2017.

Hamm will soon be seen opposite Zach Galifianakis in the 20th Century Fox comedy “Keeping Up With the Joneses.” He’s represented by CAA and Forward Entertainment.
