You want “fake news,” Trump? Check out Jordan Klepper’s new Comedy Central show when it premieres late next month.
For now, you can get a good taste of what’s to come from the above-posted promo — the first for Klepper’s “The Opposition.”
“They say investigate Trump?” the comedian and “Daily Show” alum poses in the clip. “I say, impeach Hillary.”
“They say global warming was invented by man,” he goes on. “I say, that’s probably why we earn 30 cents more on the dollar.”
Oh yeah, and apparently, “China isn’t real.” That “alternative truth” doubles as the title of Klepper’s initial promotion.
“The Opposition with Jordan Klepper” will satirize the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left, per Comedy Central’s official description.. “The Opposition” is the voice of the new America. It is the America that defines its own reality. It’s the America of paid protestors, Obama’s birth certificate, and the certainty that CNN is fake news.
It’s also the Viacom cable channel’s new partner for “The Daily Show,” effectively replacing Larry Wilmore’s “Nightly Show,” which was canceled just over a year ago now.
