Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as Philippe Petit, refuses to use a safety line during his high-wire walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in a new extended IMAX trailer for “The Walk.”
The five-minute trailer chronicles Petit’s high-wire walk from conception all the way up to its historic execution. The true story on which the movie is based made headlines in 1974 when Petit traversed the span between WTC towers 1 and 2 with nothing but a balance pole.
Despite attempts by many of those around him to talk Petit out of the dangerous walk that could potentially kill him, the high-wire artist slowly begins his stride, 1,350 feet above the ground.
