ABC said in a statement that the network wishes Behar "all the best" in her future endeavors.

"Joy Behar has been instrumental in the success of 'The View' from the very beginning," the network said. "We wish her all the best in this next chapter, and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season."

Behar will likely find herself with a fair amount of free time in the coming months. Behar's HLN offering, "The Joy Behar Show," ended its run at the end of 2011, and her Current TV show, "Joy Behar: Say Anything!" will most likely be discontinued with the takeover of the network by Al Jazeera, which purchased Current in January.
