Warner Bros Names JP Richards EVP of Worldwide Marketing and Chief Data Strategist

JP Richards has been promoted to executive vice president, Worldwide Marketing and Chief Data Strategist at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Richards will report to Blair Rich, president, Worldwide Marketing at WB, and will develop and execute marketing efforts for Warner Bros. Pictures. Richards will also support the studio’s Worldwide Marketing and Distribution division.

As chief data strategist, Richards will oversee data strategies, data-driven media, audience intelligence and new approaches to the use of data in marketing for all of the Studio’s film releases, including Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema titles.

Richards previously served as executive vice president, Worldwide Digital Marketing at WB, overseeing domestic and international digital efforts for “Wonder Woman,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “Suicide Squad,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “San Andreas,” “Lights Out,” “Creed,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “The Conjuring 2,” “Central Intelligence” and “The LEGO Batman Movie.”

Richards joined Warner Bros. Pictures in January 2015. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Universal Pictures, most recently as senior vice president, Digital Marketing where he led digital campaigns for the “Bourne,” “Fast and Furious” and “Despicable Me” franchises, among others.
