Julia Louis-Dreyfus just wrapped her second round of chemotherapy and took to Instagram to thank “Veep” co-stars Timothy Simons and Tony Hale — as well as Katy Perry.
“Chemo #2: finito. We are NOT f—ing around here,” she wrote on Thursday. “‘I’ve got the eye of the tiger. The Fighter dancing through the fire cuz I am a champion and your’re [sic] going to hear me ROAR.’ Thanks to @mrtonyhale& @timothycsimons & @katyperry for their hilarious and loving inspiration.”
The Emmy winner announced last month that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, taking to Twitter to share, “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one.”
In the message, the “Veep” actress also called for health care reform to help other women who don’t have the same resources that she does.
Louis-Dreyfus revealed her diagnosis just after winning her 11th Emmy award last month. The award was her sixth in a row for playing Selena Meyers on the HBO comedy “Veep,” setting a new record for the most awards by a performer for a single role.
