“Fool Me Once,” a thriller starring Julia Roberts and produced by her Red Om Films, has landed backers in Entertainment One (aOne) and former Relativity exec Tucker Tooley‘s Tooley Productions.

The movie will be the first film under a recently consummated first look co-financing and international distribution deal eOne inked with Tooley. The film will be distributed by eOne in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Spain. International sales outside of areas eOne has a direct distribution presence in will be handled by Sierra/Affinity.

Based on Harlan Coben’s bestselling novel of the same name, “Fool Me Once” tells the story of an ex-special operations pilot (Roberts), who witnesses her daughter playing with her recently deceased father. She ends up going on a wild adventure in pursuit of what is real.

“Harlan Coben has created an exceptional story and an incredible female lead character,” Roberts said in a statement. “Mr. Coben and I see things in a joyfully similar way in our approach to this endeavor. We here at Red Om are simply thrilled to have this creative opportunity with Tucker and eOne.”

“I am thrilled to partner with Julia and Red Om on this project,” Tooley said in the statement. “Harlan is a master of his craft and ‘Fool Me Once’ is one of his best novels to date. Along with eOne and Red Om, I am looking forward to bringing his work to the big screen.”

Roberts is represented by CAA, Engelman & Company and Hirsch Wallerstein. CAA, Aaron Priest Agency and attorney Michael Gendler represent Coben.
