Julianne Hough is taking a swing with Fox.

The network has given a put-pilot script commitment to “One Hit Wendy,” a single-camera comedy featuring the “Dancing With the Stars” standout.

The project centers on Wendy (Hough), who had one hit song when she was 18 and is now trying to help talented niece Jordan to avoid similar missteps in the the music industry.

Lesley Wake Webster (“Life in Pieces”) is writing and executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television series. Also executive producing are Hough, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (producing partners behind “It,” “The Hard Times of RJ Berger”) and Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren.

“One Hit Wendy” stems from the two-year overall deal Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith’s KatzSmith Productions signed with Fox in August.

Hough starred in “Grease: Live!” for Fox in January 2016 and will be seen next in the feature film “Bigger.”
