“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” came into focus on Monday at Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon 2017 opening night presentation.

The original hit was about a board game that opened a portal to an alternate, wild universe — and the modern reboot swaps that board game for a classic, ’90s-era video game console.

A group of misbehaving teens find the console during a detention session in their high school and are transported into the game itself where they take on altar-ego avatars played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and stunning newcomer Karen Gillan.

Johnson & co. appeared in the flesh to rouse the convention of movie exhibitors, and Hart appeared via satellite.

Jake Kasden’s take does throwback to the original — wild, running CGI rhinos might look familiar to any fans of the first film starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst.
