Justin Timberlake is ‘Ready’ to Record New Music (Video)

The singer-turned-actor made the announcement over Twitter on Thursday and hinted about a release date in the very-near future

Justin Timberlake announced big news over Twitter on Thursday. He's not getting N'Sync back together, but the singer-turned-actor is finally "ready" to record new music on his own.

The message was accompanied by a link to a video explaining why he hasn't released any music — aside from his comedic collaborations with Andy Samberg on "SNL" — since 2006's "FutureSex/LoveSounds."

"Someone asked me the other day, 'So are you just done with music?,'" Timberlake narrates while a camera follows him walking through a recording studio. "It means more to me than anybody else in the world. Look, I've only done two albums in ten years. That's the way I look at it."

"I don't want to put anything out that I don't love," he continues. "You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it."

And after years of doing just that, his fans are finally being rewarded for their patience.

"I'm ready," he concludes after slipping on a pair of headphones and standing behind a microphone in a dark recording booth.

Following the dramatic announcement, his website features a ticking countdown clock, which suggests we may be hearing the first of his new material on Monday.
