Kanye West’s behavior over the past couple weeks, including his comment about slavery being a “choice” and verbal bear hug of the president, has social media scrambling to explain the Grammy winner’s tweets… and wild yet plausible fan theories have been born.

One theory, involving Andy Kaufman and a coyote, is laid out here in a giant Twitter thread.

What it boils down to is this: that West is in the middle of an elaborate piece of performance art with the help of his friend Tremaine Emory, and he’s currently fooling us all.

West has been in the headlines for tweet rants that started out as philosophical musings, support for Donald Trump, and new music coming out in June.

His comments — including a brief rant on TMZ about slavery being a “choice” — have distanced some fans, with one radio station in Detroit even saying it will not play his music.

“We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that ‘slavery was a choice,’” The Morning Bounce hosts wrote on Facebook. “We are over it. We don’t want to hear Kanye’s music, we don’t want to play Kanye on our show, we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore. So we are taking a stand and we aren’t playing his music anymore; we just are refusing to give him a platform.”
