Karina Smirnoff to Perform on ‘DWTS’ After Hospitalization

The "Dancing With the Stars" professional hoofer was hospitalized after the infamous DWTS Curse — which has struck a long list of contestants on the ABC series — left her with injuries that required a visit to the hospital.

However, fear not; Smirnoff will be on hand to perform on Monday night's episode.

"Hey guys! I did go2 the hospital +am still a bit sore but I'm going 2 b ok+ not dancing isn't an option," Smirnoff tweeted on Monday. "Excited4 2night +LOVE our dances."

Smirnoff was injured during a rehearsal on Sunday and was brought to the hospital "as a precaution," a spokesman for the network told TheWrap. He confirmed that Smirnoff would would dancing on Monday night's show.

E! Online reported that Smirnoff was hospitalized after she attempted to perform a flip during rehearsal with her partner, NFL player Jacoby Jones. Smirnoff reportedly landed on Jones and fell, straining her neck and suffering jaw tissue damage and suffering a misalignment of her jaw.

The rigorous physical activity required by the "Dancing With the Stars" contestants has led to a litany of ouchies throughout the years, such as the back injury suffered by Dorothy Hamill, which caused the former Olympic skater to drop out of the most recent season of the series.
