Kate Beckinsale has inked a deal to join Amazon’s “The Only Living Boy in New York,” a source close to the movie confirmed to TheWrap.

The film follows a recent college graduate who starts a relationship with his father’s mistress after discovering their affair. The mistress likes the young man and has no plans on exiting the family’s life. Beckinsale will play the mistress, and Callum Turner will play the youngster. Jeff Bridges and Kiersey Clemons are also on board.

“The Only Living Boy in New York” will be produced by Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa and Allan Loeb, and it will start shooting in early October. Director Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man,” “(500) Days of Summer”) wrote the screenplay along with Allan Loeb.

Beckinsale was most recently in Relativity’s “The Disappointments Room,” which has lived up to its name at the box office with a meager $2.3 million since its Sept. 9 release. She also starred in May’s period comedy “Love & Friendship.”

Beckinsale is currently reprising her role as Selene in “Underworld: Blood Wars,” which is in post-production and scheduled for a January 6, 2017, release. “Blood Wars” is the fifth installment in Sony/Screen Gems’ “Underworld” series.

Beckinsale is represented by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
