Sorry, Kate Walsh fans, but it's official: Dr. Addison Montgomery will soon be consigned to the dustbin of TV character history.
Confirming reports that have been swirling in recent weeks, Walsh told former Real Housewife of New York and newly minted talk-show hostess Bethenny Frankel that the upcoming sixth season of "Private Practice" will be her last on the show.

Asked point-blank by Frankel in a "Bethenny" segment that will air Wednesday, Walsh admitted, "This is my last season of 'Private Practice.'"
Noting that it's been "an incredible journey and an amazing ride," Walsh added,"It's bittersweet … It's been eight years."
Walsh began playing Montgomery on "Grey's Anatomy," from which "Private Practice" spun off.
Walsh's departure isn't the only big change coming to "Private Practice." Tim Daly, who played Dr. Pete Wilder on the series, was relieved of his duties on the series last month.
The series has been renewed for a 13-episode sixth season.
ABC had no comment for TheWrap on Walsh's announcement, which can be seen in the video below.
