Katherine Heigl‘s gay marriage drama-comedy “Jenny’s Wedding” was purchased by IFC, TheWrap has learned. The movie, directed by Mary Agnes Donoghue, is set for release on July 31.
Heigl stars as a lesbian woman who celebrates her sexual orientation freely, except around her conventional family. When she chooses to marry the woman her parents thought was just her roommate, the family dynamic is tested.
Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond play her parents. Alexis Bledel appears as her girlfriend. Grace Gummer, Sam McMurray and Diana Hardcastle also star.

“Jenny’s Wedding” will make its world premiere on July 10 at Outfest Los Angeles.
