Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall Strike Overall Deal With CBS Television Studios

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, the team behind "War Horse" and many other theatrical features, will receive a pilot commitment from CBS as part of the agreement

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are taking the full plunge into television.

Getty ImagesThe producing duo, who are responsible for such big-screen features as "War Horse" and "Ponyo," have struck a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. As part of the deal, Kennedy and Marshall will develop projects for the studio, with a pilot commitment from CBS.

The pair will be joined by Robert Zotnowski, a longtime CBS Entertainment executive who most recently had served as head of television development for Stars Road Entertainment since 2009.

“Kathleen and Frank are truly gifted filmmakers with a resume that reads like a gold standard of box office success and award-winning and culturally relevant projects," CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler said. "We are excited to develop with them and reunite with Robert Zotnowski, one of our favorite CBS alumni."

In addition to their formidable feature credits, Kennedy and Marshall have had experience with television projects. Specifically, the pair were involved in the 2010 TV film "A Special Relationship," as well as "Wikileaks" and "Legacy of Ashes," which are both currently in development at HBO.
