Katie Couric to Guest on Mariska Hargitay-Directed ‘SVU’ Episode

She joins Alec Baldwin on the episode airing in March

NBC has nabbed another big name for Mariska Hargitay‘s directorial debut on “Law & Order: SVU.”

Yahoo’s global anchor Katie Couric will make a guest appearance on the episode, titled “Criminal Stories,” which is airing Wednesday, March 19 at 9/8c.

Couric will appear with Alec Baldwin, who plays Jimmy MacArthur, a controversial New York newspaper columnist who questions the SVU squad’s motives during the investigation of a potential hate crime/rape case.

She will play herself as a talk show host who quizzes MacArthur about the headline-grabbing case.

Couric recently played herself on BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood.

She has worked for the Big 3 broadcast television networks. She worked for NBC News from 1989 to 2006 and for CBS News from 2006 until fall 2011 and currently works for ABC News. She’s also the host of “Katie’s Take,” which airs weekly on Yahoo! and the ABC News website. Since September 10, 2012, she has hosted “Katie,” a syndicated daytime talk show produced by Disney-ABC Domestic Television that was recently canceled with episodes to air through June.
