KFC’s Colonel Sanders Showed Up on ‘General Hospital’ Today – For Real (Video)

George Hamilton better have gotten paid with much more than a $20 Fill Up for this

Soap operas aren’t short on ridiculous premises, but Friday’s “General Hospital” had all that and a bucket of chicken wings. KFC’s Colonel Sanders (George Hamilton) appeared on the ABC daytime drama this afternoon, when the character was treated like a bit of a celebrity but otherwise a real dude.

Sanders dropped in on Maxie (Kirsten Storms) to show off his “computer coding skills,” per a description pulled from materials made available to the press. In return, the mashed-potato pusher asks the actress for “a favor involving his 11 secret herbs and spices.”

Yes, this is all for real — at least, for as real as anything on “General Hospital” is.

Anyway, apparently, the southern gentleman is quite the texter.

“The Colonel, he definitely gets it,” Maxie tells her super-impressed friend. “He’s so witty it’s almost exhausting.”

Watch the Colonel’s entrance and opening scene via the video above. We really hope Maxie is not gonna sleep with this guy.

As for why in the world a fast food mascot would appear on a long-running soap opera, well, Friday was National Fried Chicken Day. You get it.

(Plus, we hear the Hamburglar was already booked.)

Does this stupid cameo make anyone crave KFC? Right, meet you at Popeye’s.
