Kim Kardashian Accused of ‘Blackface’ in New Makeup Ad

“How did a team of PR people all look at the photo of Kim in blackface and then tell her to post it AND make it her avi?” one user tweets

On Wednesday, Kim Kardashian released an ad for her new beauty line — but many are accusing the reality TV star of wearing blackface.

“I love Kim but that’s def black face in the form of makeup she is no where near that dark,” one Twitter user wrote.

“How did a team of PR people all look at the photo of Kim in blackface and then tell her to post it AND make it her avi?” posted another.

Kardashian revealed that her first product in the KKW Beauty line would be a creme contour & highlight kit. This comes after her sister, Kylie Jenner, has been running a beauty product line for lip kits and other makeup products for years.

According to one Twitter user, the original tweet debuting the picture was deleted but then shared again later. However, the picture remains her avatar on her Twitter profile.

While most fans took to Twitter to slam the 36-year-old, some also rushed to her defense. One user wrote, “She’s Armenian, aka naturally darker complected, let’s all calm down.” Another added, “So we’re just gonna pretend like it’s not summer and she doesn’t live in California!? For real y’all, calm down.”

A representative for Kardashian has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment. See some reactions below.
